1 Star DON’T TAKE THE “BATES”
Bates used to make a pretty decent boot for the price. My last pair lasted over 5 years. This pair? couldn’t even get ‘em on!!! Talk about cutbacks. They use about half the amount of leather on this model.
The U.S. industry standard for extra-wide shoe width on a size 11 is 4.3″ at the widest point. These measured a mere 4″, which is even short of normal width! Even after removing the upper laces I still couldn’t get my foot into the boot.
Sent them back (after much angst with the shipper) for a full refund and then bought a pair of Thorogood boots. A much nicer fit and better all around boot.
5 Stars Comfortable Tactical Boots
These boots are great. It took one day to break them in & they are totally comfortable, low maintenance (haven’t had to polish them at all). I’m on my feet all day at work & I never feel like I wish I have to take them off.
