1 Star usb port overloaded
I rarely write reviews, but I purchased these speakers, plugged them into my 13″ MacBook USB port and got a message that the USB power was overloaded and the USB port no longer works. I took it to Apple and they had the motherboard replaced (thankfully free under Applecare). I’m afraid to use the speakers on any other computer. Bummer.
5 Stars BEST FOR TRAVEL – MORE THAN TWO YEARS STILL WORKING
My HP zv5000 laptop speakers stopped working AND, the headphone input would not work either!!!! I bought these for use while traveling. Good volume, sound is not good for music, but more than adequate for speech. I use Logitech’s USB for music quality when at home. For the size these work real well.
1 Star JLAB does not respond to problems – Do not buy from them!!
I had this on my wish list for Christmas and my boyfriend bought it for me. I didn’t try it until about a month later and it did not work. It made a buzzing sound and no matter what I did I could not get sound to come out of it. I put it away and then tried again a few weeks later, thinking maybe I had done it wrong. It still did not work. I then emailed the company. I gave them a month to respond. I then emailed again and left a phone message (I am pretty sure they never actually answer the phone). Again, I gave them a month to call. I then emailed and called again and said that I need to have them respond in the next week. I never heard from them and yet, I still gave them about a month before I resorted to posting this.
How can a company not respond when a product is defective? We just lost that money. I can’t believe a company would do that. Do not buy from this company you will have absolutely no support or anyway of getting your money back if it doesn’t work.
I am still flabergasted that a company would just completely ignore you. JLAB are complete criminals.
1 Star don’t waste your money
when i first saw this product on Amazon, i said: great a speaker that doesn’t need to be plugged in and it can travel with you, the whole nine. when i received it, i was very disappointed, because it was smaller then i imagined and it doesn’t have a volume knob to adjust the sound, the sound quality is very poor, you might as well have no speaker at all. i hate it, it’s not worth the money they are asking for it

Just bought a Sony Vaio 13.1″ Z notebook, and while comparatively speaking, the built-in speakers on my Vaio are better than other small notebooks, they definitely need to be enhanced. I bought the J Lab speaker, easily slid it into a USB port, and what a difference in sound quality & volume! This little speaker really adds a punch, and is perfect for watching videos, movies, etc., without having to put on headphones.
For us who travel or want top-quality for music, a nice set of headphones don’t hurt, but for everyday use, this little J Lab unit is a perfect alternative–it’s also great-looking & is made-to-order for any laptop.
To get the best sound from these, turn your notebook volume to 100%, plug these in, and adjust sound manually depending on what you’re watching/listening to. Great sound at a great price!
